Hey everybody,
There are two ways to sort deviations, namely Newest and Popular.
I think that it is hard for a newcomer to get good exposure even if he/she has the most beautiful art in the world.
If you look to the newest item, they are gone in a sec.
If you look to the most popular they have to be very lucky to get in that list if your new.
I want to suggest an alternative way to sort them, by a kind of rating system.
What I think how a rating system could possibly look is:
- Count the number of unique DA members that watched the image/movie/literature etc. (say number x)
- Count the number of favorites they have given. (say number y)
- Divide the number y by x and multiply by 100 and you have the 'rating' of that deviation.
An example:
If I look to two pictures that are right beside each other in the list '
One (that is more popular) has 900 favs of the 15000 views and the other 500 favs of the 3500 views.
I would say (900 / 15000) * 100 = 6 is not a good as (500 / 3500) * 100 = 14.
Therefor in a rating system the last image should be better than the image before (and a lot before that).
I think if there is a good rating system next to the popular and newest system,
this could be a welcome addition to DA!

You say I choose sadness, that it's never once chosen me. Maybe you're right.
